For continuous improvement, an environmental policy is defined and an environmental program with precisely set environmental targets is derived from it. In order to evaluate the environmental impact of the organization, environmental indicators on waste, energy, materials and the like are collected. Furthermore, internal and external audits are carried out every year to check whether the environmental management system is functioning properly and complies with EMAS requirements. The environmental statement which is published annually, is used for the internal and external communication of relevant environmental information.
The EMAS requirements meet those of ISO 14001 and the systems are validated and certified together.
